Substack now sends emails when you get new subscribers from notes. Overall I’ve found notes to be highly authentic and engaging, especially yours. Early days but a promising new platform for high quality discourse!
Thanks for sharing. I'm interested to know if the subscriber growth from Notes (which I experienced, too) is a halo effect from it being a new community or if it's a longterm opportunity for growth. I'm keeping an eye on it!
I have the same question as Geoffrey. It would be interesting to revisit this question every quarter, if you’re up for that Scott. Thanks for sharing this!
Now that we cannot auto post to Twitter, adding that to Notes would be great. A preview of an article you’ve written here with a link back. Assume that’s in the works.
Awesome, thank you for sharing! I'm relatively new to Substack and only have >100 subscribers. I'm curious about how to manage the potential firehose scenario of subscribing to tons of Substacks. How do you manage the potential deluge to your inbox? I guess instead of really reading each newsletter, you'd just have to do more skimming/picking and choosing?
I mean you said it right here: "My Substack following is also much bigger than my Twitter following which might account for the increased engagement." So I think this accounts for increased likes and replies, but that increase in subscriptions is hard to ignore. I feel like the novelty does have a lot to do with that, so like you said, it will be interesting to watch over a longer term.

That's cool. How do you differentiate whether something is from a note or a post?

Yeah will definitely be interesting to see if it sustains

No commitments, but happy to share everything I learn as I come across it!
Interesting data. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much for taking on this experiment and then sharing it. This is encouraging information for me.
You got it!

I think it's a fair point. One can only read so many newsletters. I have some I always read and others I skim based on titles.
