What Does Getting Featured On Substack Discover Do? (numbers inside)

Recently I had the good fortune of being featured on Substack’s Discover section for 4 days.

If you aren’t familiar, the Discover Section is located in the explore part of the site and app.

The Substack site is already a large contributor of subscribers to my work, so I was curious how much of a lift this would provide in new readers.

Here’s the comparing the previous month of subscribers driven by the platform relative with my 4 days of being featured:

Looking at my monthly average, being featured resulted in an additional 682 subscribers over 4 days on top of the 25 I’ve been adding a day from the platform. That’s pretty awesome!

How Do You Get Featured?

A reader of mine reached out to me to let me know that he recommended I get featured the Substack team. He had been featured himself and they asked what other publications are worth checking out.

If you’re reading this, no I will not ask them to feature you. lol. I already sent them 3 publications I think are good fits.

So what’s the takeaway here? Create good things and eventually opportunities will come your way.
